French defender heading to Manchester

Emerging reports hint that France international defender Samuel Umtiti favours a move to either of the Manchester clubs like City and United which are both favourites in his pursuit ahead of the coming summer transfer window.

With suggestions that he is about to leave the Spanish La Liga outfit Barcelona, he is reportedly ready to move to the English Premier League with the hope of landing a new challenge, if reports according to Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News is to be believed.

The Red Devils are no doubt in need of experienced defenders with interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting that there is a need to have big additions in the club ahead of the coming season if they must compete for the Premier League title next season.

Although Samuel Umtiti has about three years more to spend at the La Liga outfit he is believed not to be favoured at the club and there are suggestions he could be sold to fund the transfer of star player De Ligt.

With Man United failing to win in their last two games, there will be moves to have an overhaul of the team with the defensive department as a priority.
