Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily linked with a move away from Real Madrid in recent times, and right now, there are some reports circulating in Portugal that he is set to dump the La Liga club this summer.
After helping the Spanish club beat Liverpool in the Champions League final at Kiev, the Portuguese international dropped some hints he could leave Real Madrid before the start of the upcoming 2018/19 campaign.
Portuguese news outlet Record are now reporting that the player has eventually made the decision to depart Real Madrid and is looking forward to moving back to the premier league, or a club in Italy or France.
It was added that Ronaldo is unhappy with the Champions League winners for not offering him a new deal that will see him earn as much as Lionel Messi earns at Barcelona.
It is understood the club are not interested in matching his huge demands and have told his agent – Jorge Mendes – that things can’t work as the player wants.
Apart from the issues that surround his wages, it was also added that Ronaldo is not pleased with the club for their desire to sign Neymar from Paris Saint Germain.
Although the Ligue 1 side have insisted they won’t sell the Brazilian superstar this summer, Real Madrid are still keen on convincing the French side to allow him to move to the Bernabeu before the start of next season.
According to the report, Ronaldo, who has been heavily linked with a move back to Manchester United, sees Madrid’s effort to sign the Brazilian as a plot to replace him in the team.
