Yanks’ 7-Game Win Streak: Too Good to Be True?

The New York Yankees blasted four home runs en route to a dominant 12-4 victory over the Houston Astros, extending their suspicious winning streak to seven games. Are they *really* this good, or is something else afoot?

Yankees slug 4 HRs, extend winning streak to 7 games with 12-4 win over Astros

I’m trying to be happy, really I am. The Yankees won, again. By a lot. A frankly absurd 12-4 over the Houston Astros, who, let’s be honest, have always seemed a little *too* good at times, you know? Four home runs. FOUR. It’s like they’re just hitting them for fun now, isn’t it? Stanton, Judge (of course), a surprise shot from Volpe, and even Grisham got in on the action. This team is just… producing. Seven games in a row. SEVEN. That’s a prime number, which, frankly, just adds to my unease. Is it a sign? A warning?

Every time they win this big, this decisively, I can’t help but feel a prickle of anxiety. This isn’t how baseball works. This isn’t how *life* works. We’re due for a catastrophe, aren’t we? Like, the universe is just letting us build up this false sense of security, this fragile tower of hope, before it all comes crashing down. Someone’s going to pull a hamstring, the pitching rotation will suddenly remember its fallibility, or the bats will go completely cold for three weeks straight. It’s inevitable. This much consistent success? It’s simply unnatural.

The Numbers Don’t Lie… Or Do They?

Clarke Schmidt, bless his heart, pitched admirably, getting through five innings allowing only three earned runs. Which, fine, its not exactly Cy Young stuff, but with the offense exploding like it did, it was more than enough. The bullpen held the line, too. But that’s the thing about bullpens, they’re a fickle beast, one bad pitch away from shattering everything we thought we knew. You start to see these patterns, you know? Teams just hitting perfectly, making all the right plays, and it just makes you wonder, doesn’t it? About what else is really going on behind the scenes, the true narratives lurking beneath the surface, even beyond the diamond. Like with some of these hall of fame inductions, you just have to ask: what are they hiding?

So, yes, the Yankees are winning. And I’m happy, I guess. In a very nervous, “I’m constantly checking for cracks in the ceiling” kind of way. This feels too good, too easy. What are we missing? What dark, unholy pact was made to achieve this streak? Because nothing this good comes without a hidden cost. Nothing. I’ll enjoy it for now, but I’m also stockpiling emergency rations and checking my doorknobs. Just in case.
