Wolves vs Chelsea: Will the Blues be stopped by this giants’ killer

Chelsea are in action later tonight as they take on Wolverhampton Wanderers in week 15th fixture.

The Blues were defeated — for the first time, this season– by Tottenham two weeks ago but they returned back to winning ways against Fulham last weekend.

The Blues thrashed the Craven Cottagers by a two-goal margin as they brought their involvement in the title race back on track.

Up next for Maurizio Sarri’s men is Wolverhampton’s challenge and they are really preparing hard for it.

On paper, the Blues shouldn’t be stopped by the Wolves as they have a better head-to-head record.

However, Wolves are not pushovers especially against top six clubs, so Sarri must carefully instruct his men to avoid any complacency.

Why Chelsea must be wary of Wolverhampton Wanderers

Though their current position in the Premier League standings is saying otherwise, the Wolves are capable of beating any top four club.

They presently sit at the 12th position but Chelsea, as one of the top-six clubs, must be ruthless and focused throughout the game if they must get their 10th win of the season.

Below are some results that show why Chelsea must up their game against the Wolves

Manchester City 1:1 Wolves

In case you forget, Manchester City’s hundred per cent start to the season was halted by the Wolves who took the lead in the first half but couldn’t hold on to it.

Sergio Aguero found the back of the net to help the citizens prevent a shock defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolverhampton 1:1 Manchester United

Just as they did against the blue part of Manchester, the Wolves played a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils.

United’s summer signing Fred scored the first goal but Wolves were able to pull one back before the end of the game.

Having seen the outcome of the fixtures above, you would agree with me that the Blues aren’t just playing a 12th-placed team, but they are up against a team who knows how to prevent top clubs from picking maximum points.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata could be made to start from the bench in today’s game. According to speculations breaking out from the Cobham training ground, Maurizio Sarri is finally set to name Olivier Giroud in his starting lineup as a result of the Frenchman’s excellent form.

Ross Barkley could also be given a deserved start later tonight. The former Everton man is being awesome with the Blues, hence, leaving the Italian manager with no option but to give him a trial.
