Czech Republic outfit Slavia Prague have been slammed with a partial stadium closure by Europe’s governing body UEFA ahead of their Europa League clash with Chelsea.
Slavia Prague were punished by UEFA following separate incidents against Belgian club Genk in their Europa League last 32 clash on February 14.
The said incidents include setting off fireworks, throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and blocked stairways.
The closure of a number of sections in the Sinobo Stadium for the first leg clash with Chelsea on April 11 was ordered by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB).
Slavia Prague were also fined €32,000 while their last 32 opponents Genk were fined €20,000 after their supporters were found guilty of setting off fireworks and throwing objects.
West London giants Chelsea also incurred the wrath of UEFA for a pitch invasion in their Europa League tie with Swedish club Malmo.
The Blues were fined €5,000 while their Swedish opponents copped a €12,000 fine as a result of their fans setting off fireworks.
Reigning Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk and Italian Serie A club Lazio were also slammed with partial stadium closure for their next European game at home due to the behaviours of their fans against Eintracht Frankfurt on February 14 and Sevilla on February 20 respectively.
