Timo Werner

Premier League leaders Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for in-form RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner but Reds opted against making a move for him during the just concluded winter transfer window.

The Reds could firm up their string interest with a bid for the petite attacker rated at around £60m although the Daily Express think otherwise.

According to the publication from the Daily Express, Liverpool officials have decided not to pursue a move for the German international as a result of a young Reds striker.

Rhian Brewster is highly thought of at Liverpool with club manager Jurgen Klopp tipping the 18-year-old to be a part of his team once he returns to full fitness.

The young England striker is recuperating from a ligament injury.

The latest development would be music to the ears of Bayern fans especially.

The Bavarian giants were said to be in the running to sign the 22-year-old alongside Liverpool.

Bayern Munich were top favourites for his signature alongside the Reds.

Apart from Liverpool and Bayern Munich, Timo Werner has also been linked with Champions League holders Real Madrid and German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Werner is one of the form players in the Bundesliga at the moment after netting 11 league goals.
