German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have announced that Benjamin Pavard will join the club this summer.

The announcement was made by the Bavarian giants’ sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic on Wednesday.

The former Bayern Munich winger also confirmed that French international defender Pavard has put pen to paper on a five-year deal until the end of the 2023/24 season.

It was also revealed that 22-year-old will join his new club on the 1St of July.

Benjamin Pavard will join Bayern in the summer at the end of his contract with fellow German Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart.

His stock rose in the summer of 2018 when he played a prominent role for the French national team at last year’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

Benjamin Pavard was the first choice right-sided defender for the French team that won a second World Cup title by seeing off surprise finalists Croatia via a 4-2 win in their final clash in July 2018.

He also scored the best goal of the tournament with his stunning strike against Argentina in a second round clash which ended in a 4-3 victory for France.

With France trailing 2-1 to Argentina, Pavard unleashed an unstoppable strike to equalise for his side and that played a big part in the win for the French team.

He’s a utility defender that can play as a right back and as a central defender.
