English Premier League outfit Arsenal boss Unai Emery has confessed that Matteo Guendouzi is one of his favourite players in the Gunners team despite being new.
Matteo Guendouzi only joined the North London outfit in the summer window after completing a £7 million transfer from French outfit Lorient o July 11,
The young sensation immediately found his way into the starting XI of the manager Unai Emery’s team and it has now been revealed the reason why it happened that way.
The Spanish boss noted that Matteo Guendouzi gave a first impression that convinced him of the player’s ability and most importantly, commitment to playing for the team.
He made it known that when Matteo Guendouzi first signed, he was supposed to join the France squad for the U19 Championship in Finland but he turned down the opportunity because of the Arsenal team.
Unai Emery stated that the first impression was very good and he was not let down by the player because it was glaring for everyone to rate him as a good player with big potentials.
The former PSG boss stated that Matteo Guendouzi was quick to adapt to the team and has had a very good progress so far within his few months at the club.
