It has been reported that Manchester United scouts are impressed with target Kostas Manolas and have made recommendations for his signature ahead of the winter transfer window which reopens in coming days.
The AS Roma player has been impressed so far this season with the Red Devils believed to have been monitoring him for a while.
However, United representatives were reported to have watched the player when his AS Roma side clashed with Italian Serie A champions and had reasons to make positive remarks for him.
Red Devils caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also reported to be a big fan of the player and will mount pressure on the club to have him join the Old Trafford in the coming year.
Reports claim that the Greek international defender could be allowed to leave the Serie A club but Man United will have to meet with the £36 million release clause in his current deal.
However, former AEK Athens defender joined Roma in 2014 for a fee of about £15 million which gives him the experience he can boast of.
United are desperate for defenders in the team and will be willing to go all out in the coming winter window to secure more additions to the team.
