United ready to tie injured star player with new deal

Jesse Lingard

Although he has been unavailable for a couple of games, Manchester United are reported to be considering a new deal for Jesse Lingard which will have him remain at the club much longer.

However, the club could open contract talks with the England international anytime soon, The Mirror reports.

Lingard’s current deal was only signed last year but he has won the heart of the club with his development and impact to the deal to deserve a new deal.

With the deal which hands the 25-year-old £100,000 a week, he is expected to earn more once a new deal is completed.

The English player is missing in the international assignment with his country due to the groin injury he suffered but there are hopes he will return anytime soon.

United’s decision to hand the player a new deal is a sort of a compensation for the good work by academic product and that could go a long way in encouraging others to come at their best.

The Old Trafford side will return from the international break to face Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge in the Premier League encounter.

A defeat for the Manchester side could be more devastating than anticipated owing to the poor results they have suffered in the past weeks.
