Liverpool midfielder James Milner is focused on putting an end to the Reds’ trophyless run ahead of their Champions League final clash with North London giants Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds will have the opportunity to end their seven-year wait for a trophy when they take on Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final on June 1.

The Champions League billed for the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid is an all-English affair.

James Milner spoke to the official website of Liverpool about his quest to help the Reds end their trophy drought in Madrid.

According to him, it would be disappointing not to end the season with a trophy after the team gave their all in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

The former Newcastle United and Aston Villa player is keen not to let the opportunity to end the season with a trophy go away.

James Milner was reacting to the disappointment of missing out on the Premier League title on Sunday after his former club Manchester City piped Liverpool to the much-coveted trophy.

Manchester City defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 4-1 away from home to ensure that the title will stay in Manchester at the expense of Liverpool who beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at home but could only finish second.

Liverpool missed out on the title by just one point.
