Transfer: Liverpool Set To Usurp Watford For Brazilian Player

Champions League finalists Liverpool are on the verge of hijacking the transfer for young Brazilian forward Joao Pedro according to widespread media reports.

Liverpool will sign the player from under the noses of fellow Premier League club Watford.

Joao Pedro plays his club football for Brazilian Serie A club Fluminense at the moment.

According to the specific report from Globoesporte, Liverpool will exploit the loophole in his contract at Fluminense to sign the 17-year-old forward.

This is despite the fact that Watford have an agreement in place to sign the player.

For now, the Reds’ attention is on their upcoming Champions League clash with North London giants Tottenham Hotspur in what’s an all-English affair.

Liverpool secured their place in the final via a monumental effort in the second leg of their semifinal tie with Spanish champions Barcelona.

The Reds had trailed 3-0 from the first leg in Spain before three second-half goals gave Liverpool a 4-0 win in the second leg thereby securing the final via a 4-3 aggregate victory.

Liverpool will face Spurs in the final billed for the new Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid on the 1st of June with the quest to win a sixth title, while their opponents are looking for a first ever Champions League title.
