Tiemoue Bakayoko has confirmed his move from Chelsea to AC Milan on a season-long loan.
The French midfielder took social media platform, Instagram to announce his move, following days of speculations over the star’s future.
Bakayoko has not been able to prove himself at Stamford Bridge since his arrival last summer, despite being touted as one of the best young midfielders in Europe at that time.
Former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte complained about the midfielder’s tactical indiscipline, which saw him sidelined for the most part of last season, coupled with strings of injuries.
Bakayoko could not convince new manager, Maurizio Sarri with his displays during pre-season, as he fell behind the pecking order during selections despite indications that the Italian was ready to give the 23-year-old another chance to prove himself.
The Frenchman opted to join AC Milan on loan in a move that could become permanent next season if the Italian giants can stump up to 35 million pounds for his transfer.
Following his move to AC Milan, Bakayoko took to Instagram to extend his gratitude to the Chelsea family as he also thanked AC Milan ‘for believing him’
It is understood that Sarri will rather go with Cesc Fabregas and Ross Barkley in the advanced midfield role than Bakayoko, which was evident in their pre-season friendlies.
