It appears Chelsea have been given a timely boost after new signing Tiemoue Bakayoko confirmed he had returned to training at his new club.
The former Monaco player is yet to play a game for the blues following his £40million move from the Ligue I side earlier in the summer due to an injury in his knee.
Nemanja Matic’s move to Old Trafford to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho has left Antonio Conte short of midfield options and the Italian saw his squad being further depleted after Cesc Fabregas was shown the red card against Burnley.
Fabregas won’t be able to play against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, but the boss received better news about Bakayoko.
Bakayoko posted a picture on his Instagram account this morning with the caption:
‘Ready for the training session’.
His post comes shortly after blues fans seem to spot him training ahead of the Spurs game.
Chelsea will also tackle Mauricio Pochettino’s side without club captain Gary Cahill after the Englishman received a straight red card last Saturday against Burnley at Stamford Bridge.
After the opening day defeat, the Italian tactician admitted that his side lost their composure after the skipper’s early dismissal.
‘After the red card [of Cahill], we lost our composure and conceded three goals. We have to improve a lot on this aspect.’ he said.
