According to the Mirror, premier league champions Chelsea have sent Brazilian youngster Kenedy to Rafa Benitez’ Newcastle United on a season-long loan.
The player came under fire for making offensive social media posts during Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the Far East, where Chelsea were forced to issue an apology to the people of China after the player was booed during their pre season friendly game with Arsenal at the Beijing stadium.
The samba star would have been hoping to challenge for a spot in the first team this season, but the results of his uncultured actions have seen his side wanting to push him away from Stamford Bridge this summer. And Rafa Benitez has made a quick move.
The former Liverpool manager has offered the 21-year-old an escape route and is reportedly pleased to bring him into his newly promoted team to improve his squad.
Last season, the player was sent on loan to Watford. Unfortunately, injuries couldn’t allow him to prove his worth and he only managed to play once for the club.
After a good start, before he was sent packing from Chelsea’s pre-season camp, it is hoped he will continue his good form in Rafa’s squad, and end up being one of the club’s most important players.
This summer, nine Chelsea players have departed Stamford Bridge already, and they were only able to bring in just four players.
