Deal almost done! Arsenal to announce second signing this week

Arsenal very close on a deal to sign Lucas Torreira in the summer transfer window, according to a report.

Premier League giants Arsenal are set to complete a transfer deal for Sampdoria star Lucas Torreira in the next 24 hours, as per reports in Uruguay.

Website Football.London is citing unnamed sources in Uruguay that are suggesting Torreira is close to completing a move to Arsenal from Serie A side Sampdoria ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

The same report states that Arsenal are prepared to make public their second summer arrivals after the Gunners reached a £26million agreement with the Italian outfit.

As per the same report, the Gunner officials and the player’s representative Pablo Bentancur are travelling to Russia to discuss a deal before the FIFA World Cup kicks off.

The Uruguayan media claims add that the national squad have handed permission for the 22-year-old to depart their team camp to resolve a transfer deal before their FIFA World Cup opening match against African giant Egypt.

Torreira netted four goals and created one assist in 36 matches in Italian Serie A in the 2017-18 campaign to attract interest from Napoli and Arsenal.

Arsenal brought in Switzerland skipper Stephan Lichtsteiner on a fee from Juventus in the summer window.
