Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has revealed how Scotland international teammate Andy Robertson came close to joining the Potters at the start of last season.
Charlie Adam stated how he tried to convince Stoke City to sign Robertson last season.
Andy Robertson went on to sign for Liverpool for just £8m and he has proved to be one of the best bargains buys in the Premier League in the last five years.
Charlie Adam, 33, narrated how Andy Robertson came close to joining the Potters in his recent interview with the Scotsman.
He further revealed that his international teammate will be worth £70m at the moment when Stoke City could have signed him for just £8m.
Andy Robertson didn’t break into the Liverpool team immediately after his transfer to the Merseyside club last season.
He had to wait for his opportunity before displacing Alberto Moreno and utility midfielder James Milner as the undisputed first choice left-back in the Liverpool squad.
Robertson was an integral part of the team that reached the final of the Champions League last season before they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid.
He has started 20 of the 21 Premier League games this season to help the Reds to the top of the table.
