Premier League side set to lure Dane away from Chelsea

Former Chelsea man Pat Nevin feels that he’s heard a major rumour, claiming Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are big fans of Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

From a Manchester City perspective, it’s crystal clear why the former Barcelona boss would be targeting a transfer for a center-half, as that looks to be the only position of his team that needs attention given their brilliant start to the campaign.

While England international defender John Stones is currently ruled out of action, Belgium defender Vincent Kompany’s injury problem doesn’t make for good reading, leaving the City tactician short of defensive options with Frenchman Eliaquim Mangala stepping up to play alongside Nicolas Otamendi.

Guardiola may like that pairing, but moving ahead, Pat Nevin feels that the tactician would love to raid the Blues for one of their hottest prospects, but casts quick doubt over the move actually materializing.

Andreas Christensen returned to Chelsea in the summer after a highly successful loan spell in the German Bundesliga, and he’s slowly becoming a vital part of the manager’s plans, with the 21-year-old defender playing 16 matches in all competitions so far this term.

It looks highly impossible that the Blues will allow the centre-half leave, and also for a direct English Premier League rival, but Pat Nevin insists that he’s heard a claim that Manchester City would love to sign the Chelsea man.
