Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic has revealed he turned the chance to play under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool because he never thought of leaving his current side.
The Reds boss is known to be a long term admirer of the American’s qualities and wanted to convince Pulisic to join him at Anfield, even saw a bid turned down for the winger during the summer transfer window before he penned a new deal with the Bundesliga.
The 18-year-old who joined Dortmund in 2015 under Jurgen Klopp has now revealed he never nursed the idea of leaving Dortmund.
‘I have respect for Klopp and I know him – he was very welcoming to me here – but I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool,’ Pulisic told FourFourTwo.
‘Dortmund have given me everything. If I work very hard here I will play and I love this club.’
Pulisic has been regarded as one of the best talents in Europe and has been monitored several clubs in Europe with Liverpool believed to be on the fore front of the transfer race as Klopp looks to bolster his ranks with preference for players from the Bundesliga following the capture of Lloris Karius, Klavan Ragnar and Roberto Firmino from Germany
