Rangers’ manager Steven Gerrard has made Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke his top priority ahead of the mid-season transfer window.
The Daily Express claim that the ex-England international skipper is in need of firepower as he hopes to wrestle the Scottish Premier League title from rivals Celtic and he’s targeting the aforementioned Solanke.
The Liverpool legend is no stranger to the quality of Dominic Solanke who has struggled to break into the Liverpool team this season.
Solanke has not featured for the Reds this season and a loan move could be an option for him in the New Year.
The Nigerian-born England striker has been linked with other clubs ahead of the January transfer market.
Premier League sides like Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Newcastle United are said to be in the hunt for the 21-year-old alongside Turkish giants Galatasaray.
His inactivity for Liverpool is in stark contrast to what was obtainable with him last season.
Dominic Solanke signed for the Reds last summer on a free transfer from Premier League title rivals Chelsea and he went on to score once in 27 appearances in all competitions.
21 of those appearances came in the Premier League as he helped Liverpool to qualify for the Champions League via fourth place at the end of the season.
