Every one of us have been anticipating this day, especially those whose clubs qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Now, we know the results, and Manchester United fans are aware they will be clashing with Sevilla in the last-16 round.
The red devils finished the group stage round triumphantly, and have been drawn with the La Liga side who fought hard to qualify for the knockout stages.
The first leg is taking place next February, and the second leg will be in March.
Sevilla won two of their six games to finish second in Group E behind Liverpool, amassing nine points in total.
The Spanish club opened the Champions League with a clash against Liverpool at Anfield – sharing points with Jurgen Klopp’s side after fighting for a 2-2 draw.
They won Maribor 3-0 in their second game before losing 5-1 to Spartak Moscow in Russia. They however came back stronger for the second-legs – beating the Russian side in Spain, coming back from 3-0 down to share points with Liverpool, and getting a 1-1 draw at Maribor.
Manchester United, on the other hand, won five games and lost just one – the 1-0 defeat at Basel.
Jose Mourinho’s side are obviously stronger than Sevilla and are likely to progress to the quarter-finals ahead of the Spanish club.
Premier League champions Chelsea will clash with Barcelona, while Manchester City will face FC Basel – the only club that won Man United in Group A.
