Summer signing Romelu Lukaku has continued his brilliant start to life at Old Trafford by scoring his sixth premier league goal for his new side on Saturday at St Mary’s.
The talented player joined Manchester United for £75million during the summer transfer window and has proved to his new employers that they made the right decision paying that much to secure his services.
Lukaku scored his eighth goal in all competitions against Southampton and is still on fire.
As things stand now as it concerns Manchester United and the premier league, the Belgium international’s impressive start at the club is matched only once in their history of the competition, and the player who has got that done is Louis Saha.
Lukaku got off to a quick start at Manchester by scoring twice on his debut against West Ham. He also scored a goal and provide an assist last week against his former side Everton at Old Trafford.
Now, by scoring eight goals in eight of all competitions, it is noteworthy that the 24-year-old has also got off to a more superb start than some other Man United legends like Eric Cantona, Andrew Cole, Dwight Yorke, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Robin van Persie.
Lukaku has even scored eight goals faster than last term’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
His most recent goal has given Jose Mourinho’s side the lead over Southampton as they maintain their strong start to the new term.
