Scottish Premier League side Rangers have reportedly made a move in their quest to sign Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke when the transfer window reopens at the start of next month.
According to the publication from Football Insider, Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has asked Liverpool for Solanke to be loaned to Ibrox for the second half of the season.
This is in stark contrast to the recent interview from the former Reds skipper.
Gerard had denied transfer rumours linking his club with a move for the Nigerian-born England international striker.
Rangers are in need of quality reinforcements in the forward positions following the exit of forwards Ovie Ejaria and Umar Sadiq.
Ejaria and Sadiq had their loan deals terminated and they have gone back to their parent clubs.
Ovie Ejaria made 28 appearances for Rangers before he returned to Liverpool after failing to adapt to the gruesome demands of the Scottish top flight, while Umar Sadiq was able to feature five times.
Sadiq has gone back to AS Roma after his non-performance for the Scottish giants.
Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke would be a fantastic addition to the Rangers squad.
He has not featured for the Reds in their impressive surge towards the top of the Premier League table this season.
