According to reports, Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid have initiated contact over the move of Inter Milan forward and speculated Arsenal transfer target Mauro Icardi as they try to replace Karim Benzema.
The La Liga giants could surely do with reinforcement in attack as the likes of France international forward Benzema and Portuguese attacker Cristiano Ronaldo now out of form.
Mauro Icardi, meanwhile, has shone like million stars this campaign with 18 goals in 21 Italian Serie A matches so far, making himself as one of Europe’s best centre-forwards.
He could fit in perfectly well at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Don Balon suggest Real Madrid have started the process of negotiating a transfer deal to sign him, with the club sure of the transfer as he desires to join.
This development could be bad updates for the Gunners, who also require a new signing in the attack at the moment after offloading Chilean Alexis Sanchez to rival club Manchester United.
Recently, Gianluca Di Marzio listed Arsenal as among the sides keen on Icardi and reported that he had a buyout clause of £96m, though most rumour at the moment claims the Gunners are working to land Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from German side Borussia Dortmund.
