RB Leipzig set huge price tag on Liverpool target

Timo Werner

The Reds are tipped to make a summer move for German star Timo Werner as Klopp seeks to add more options to his frontline before 2019-20 season.

The London Evening claimed last week that the Premier League outfits are ready to battle Bayern Munich for the 22-year-old in the summer.

The Reds have received a major boost in their race to sign the striker as RB Leipzig are finally willing to release him after this season.

According to reports emanating from the Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig have set a mammoth price tag on his signature and they are looking to pocket €65m from his sale in the summer.

Normally, one would think it’s very unlikely to see the Reds spend such price on one player.

But taking a critical assessment of the player’s attacking prowess, you will agree with me that the young man can produce performances that worth much more than the asking price.

Jurgen Klopp’s urge to find a perfect attacking playmaker and a centre-forward will surely force the Reds into making an official bid for the player in the summer.

German media outlet Bild equally suggest that the Merseyside club face huge competition from Munich for his services. They claimed that Niko Kovac is a die-hard fan of the youngster and the manager is more than willing to have him under his watch.

Bild further revealed that Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea are heavily linked with the youngster’s services this winter.

Both teams, especially the Blues, are desperately seeking for a proven goalscorer and they wouldn’t mind splashing huge amount of money on Timo Werner.
