Former Marseille defender Eric di Meco has taken side with embattled French midfielder, Paul Pogba, arguing that the player should not be blamed for the heat at the club.
There is a relative tension at the Old Trafford between Jose Mourinho and Pogba with the manager stripping the player of his captain band and telling him that he will never lead the team again.
This has not gone well with the World Cup winner who is now very anxious to leave the team and has reportedly made his stance known to his boss.
It is now obvious that there is a dressing room crisis at the Old Trafford with expectations that there would be some departures at the end of the season.
However, Di Meco says the former Juventus player should be spared of the blame; instead, he pointed the accusing finger on the Portuguese manager as the master minder of the whole crisis.
He said the player is only a victim because he had critized Mourinho, noting that the manager does not accept criticisms and wants to be the centre instead of the players.
He said when things also fail to work out; Mourinho tries to put the blame on the players, which is unfair.
According to him, Pogba is liked at the club and by the management.
