Stoke City safe hand Jack Butland has responded to transfer speculation linking him with North London giants Arsenal and Merseyside outfit Liverpool that appeared in British publication the Sun a week ago.
Next big thing in the Premier League
The England international is seen as one of the Premier League best goalkeepers on his day and could be an upgrade on the likes of ageing Petr Cech and Belgian Simon Mignolet in that role for either side.
The Sun suggested the Gunners and the Reds were both in for the Stoke City star, valued at about £40m, but the 24-year-old goalie himself tweeted about the rumour in a bid to put the report to bed.
Stoke have bigger problems
Stoke City supporters would have less or no worry on that front, then, though the club faces a real fight to remain in the English top flight this season and failure to do so would certainly mean losing their best legs such as Jack Butland.
Stoke City are currently 19th on the log, and have already lost 14 times in the league this term – the joint-worst Premier League record.
Butland would certainly not settle for playing in the English Championship next season if clubs are able to table the realistic opportunity of trophies and continental football came in, especially as he’ll believe he’s a potential England first choice goalie for the next few season to come.
