Premier League giants Arsenal allegedly offered Boca Juniors around £27million for Argentine Cristian Pavon in the New year and are still keen, according to Spanish media reports.
Surprising made Argentina starting eleven
The 22-year-old forward was a shock inclusion in the starting XI of Argentina for their dramatic FIFA World Cup encounter with France National team on Saturday, selected ahead of Gonzalo Higuain and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero as the South Americans were defeated 4-3 and sent packing from the global showpiece.
And now AS have claimed that North London giants Arsenal submitted a £27million offer back in the January transfer window and remain keen on luring the Albiceleste star to the Emirates Stadium.
Boca ready to listen to offers
It is expected that more sides will join the transfer race to land him after the FIFA World Cup, but his current side Boca Juniors in no rush to offload.
The South American has played more than 60 league matches for the Argentine club since playing his first game back in 2014 and netted 17 goals.
Pavon extended his contract last summer and is said to be contracted until the summer of 2022.
Unai Emery has already signed Stephen Lichtsteiner and goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayern Leverkusen this summer.
