Premier League giants Liverpool will face the twin threat of both Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in their bid to sign Lille winger Nicolas Pepe.

This is according to the publication from the stables of the Daily Star.

The Reds had earlier opened talks with Lille over a deal for the aforementioned Pepe.

The 23-year-old was in sensational form for Lille during the just concluded French Ligue 1 and his form has not gone unnoticed with the best teams on the European football scene.

Nicolas Pepe scored 22 goals and also provided 11 assists in 38 games in the French Ligue 1 as Lille secured their return to Champions League football.

Lille finished the season in second place and just behind French champions PSG.

Senior Lille officials have already revealed that Ivorian winger Pepe will leave the club this summer but his next destination is undecided.

Lille have already slapped an asking price of around €80m on Nicolas Pepe.

Liverpool already have the famed front trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah but that has not stopped the Reds from pushing for a transfer for Nicolas Pepe.

Mane, Salah and Firmino have scored 68 goals amongst them ahead of the Champions League final on Saturday night.
