Chelsea midfield maestro N’Golo Kante has beaten a number of top players to another major award after the Chelsea star was named France Football’s French footballer of the Year 2017.
The defensive midfielder beat the likes of talented kid Kylian Mbappe, currently playing alongside highly-rated Neymar Jr. and Edison Cavani. Real Madrid superstar striker Karim Benzema and Manchester United star Paul Pogba all fell off in naming the eventual winner of France’s best player of the year.
He also got the nod over Atletico Madrid striker Antoinne Greizmann. The award shows the remarkable journey of the French star since he broke unto football limelight at Leicester about three years ago. He has won two English Premier League titles with King power giants Leicester and Premier League Champions Chelsea and has received a host of individual awards recently.
Aside from the fact that he was named in the top 10 in the world by France Football in the recent Ballon d’Or awards, the former Leicester City man has also won the English PFA Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year awards.
Kante, who made it a successive English Premier League titles in May, amassed 92 votes to win the crown, given out by France Football.
