Arsenal lost Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United earlier this week, and club legend Thierry Henry has asked German international Mesut Ozil to step up and take care of the team.

The red devils announced the signing of Alexis on Monday in a deal which saw Herinkh Mkhitaryan move over to the Emirates Stadium to replace the Chilean international.

Arsenal clashed with Chelsea on Wednesday night in the League Cup semi-final. The North Londoners were able to beat the premier league champions 2-1 even without Sanchez and will clash with Manchester City in the finals next month.

Speaking ahead of the League Cup game at Stamford Bridge, former Arsenal player Thierry Henry said Mesut must make the team his own now that Alexis Sanchez is gone.

Henry, who is a big admirer of Ozil, will, however, hope the Germany international won’t dump Arsenal at the end of this season.

The former Real Madrid player has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United to reunite with his former manager Jose Mourinho.

His current contract at the Emirates will expire at the end of this season, and he will become a free man next summer if he failed to put pen on paper for a new deal before then.

There are speculations Manchester United are still interested in getting Ozil for free next summer.
