Why Mourinho’s ability should not be placed under doubt, Makelele

Former Chelsea midfielder Makelele has noted that the ability of the embattled Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho should not be placed under doubt, stressing that the records can tell better.

Mourinho has battled to win at the Old Trafford owing to controversies with big players and also distractions from his bashing with the media.

There are speculations the Portuguese manager boss will be sacked if he fails to win the Saturday’s Premier League game against former side having lost three games already in this season’s campaign.

Citing his case as an example, the Chelsea legend said Mourinho had changed the mentality of the Blues when he was in charge and turned them to be winners.

Makelele stated that the manager who had won the Champions League with Porto a year before initiated the team with his confidence and boldness which made them winners at last.

According to him, all of the manager’s influence was the reason why Chelsea became Premier League contenders and won the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool despite being ahead.

However, the manager has failed to establish all of this in his current team at the Old Trafford but the Chelsea legend believes his former manager still has all it takes, noting that it will only manifest with time.
