Kalidou Koulibaly

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been approached to confirm his side’s reported interest in Serie A outfit Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Portuguese manager was faced with the question when his side failed again to win in their Saturday’s Premier League clash against Southampton. After the 2-2 draw, it was evident that the Red Devils were in need of defenders.

In his reaction, Mourinho refused to give a definite answer as he stated that he does not know if it is true or not. He affirmed that the only thing he can confirm is that he is a Napoli player.

With the winter transfer window fast approaching, it is suggested that United will be all out for defenders having identified that department as a major reason for their flaws this season.

It is so far one of the worst starts for the Red Devils as they seek and that has been well predicted by the former Chelsea boss who claimed his side will have a difficult season having failed to recruit the defenders he wished to have.

Meanwhile, it is now unsure if the Portuguese boss will be handed enough funds for the winter window which opens in January following reports that he is no longer trusted by the management.
