Former Manchester United manager Tommy Docherty has stated that French midfielder Paul Pogba must leave the Old Trafford at the end of the season.

The World Cup winner has been in the centre of controversies especially with his rift with manager Jose Mourinho.

His issues with the Portuguese manager got messier when he was stripped of his assistant captain band. He has therefore made it clear that he is uncomfortable under Mourinho and wants to quit the club.

The former United boss said he will advise his former side to let the player leave because it is obvious he doesn’t want to remain at the club.

He blamed the club for bringing the player back from Juventus because he has been unstable in attitude.

Docherty made it clear that same attitude issues made former boss Alex Ferguson sell the player to the Italian outfit some years back.

Meanwhile, Spanish giants Barcelona are reported to be interested in having the player but will not be willing to pay as much as £100 million for the player.

It has been learnt that United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reluctant to let the player go because he is part of the club’s future plan.
