Video: See how Andy Robertson came with the assist that gave Sadio Mane the first goal against Leicester City

The Reds are really good this season with a lot win to their name already.

Prior to the commencement of the EPL season, Football pundits disclosed that Liverpool are the only club that can challenge and unseat the defending champions, Man City.

This might actually be true as Liverpool had made some great signings in the summer transfer window, which is already yielding a positive result.

Some of the new signings include Naby Keita, Alisson Becker, Xherdan Shaqiri and Fabinho (who is yet to start.)

Another football club, that comes close is Chelsea, who are trying to forge a way forward.

Well,  the Reds have done it again today as they take on the Foxes at their home stadium, King Power.

Andy Robertson

The first goal in the first half which came from Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane is surprising.

This is not because the Senegal international can’t score the goal, far from it but the surprising aspect is about the player who made the assist.

Liverpool left-back, Andy Robertson made a great pass today.

This goal comes after Mo Salah had lost a chance to score what would’ve been the first goal.

Why Denis Suarez could mean the end of Fabregas at Chelsea

Published

on

Denis Suarez

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is looking to fortify his midfield position during the upcoming winter transfer window.

The Italian manager believes summer signing Jorginho is being overused, so, he’s ready to bring a new midfielder as a backup to his compatriot.

Considering the manner with which the Italian midfielder began life at Stamford Bridge, you will be surprised he’s playing in the league for the first time in his career.

However, his performance in recent weeks points to the fact that he’s becoming a bit tired and overstressed by the League’s hectic fixtures.

According to the Mirror, Sarri is keeping close tabs on Barcelona’s 24-year-old midfielder Denis Suarez, who has been a bit-part player under Valverde this season.

The midfielder has failed to reach his full potentials at Camp Nou, featuring in just one match so far this season.

He’s poised to leaving the Spanish giants in January as he searches for greener pasture.

Sarri is reportedly willing to release £15m for his services but it remains unknown if the Blaugranas sanction his move to Stamford Bridge for such amount.

Denis Suarez will definitely have an effect on Sarri’s lineup, should he eventually join the West London Club. Apart from being a backup to Jorginho, the 24-year-old could turn out to be the end of Cesc Fabregas stay at Stamford Bridge.

The former Arsenal midfielder has failed to nail down a permanent spot in Sarri’s lineup and he is said to be heading out of the team.

Fabregas was a regular starter for the Blues during Conte’s first season with the team but couldn’t keep his place towards the end of last season.

Despite his impressive Premier League record, Sarri didn’t rate the Spaniard and he wasn’t convinced of his quality.

The manager is now planning to release him in January so as to create space for a much younger and active Suarez to step in.

According to report from Italy via Tuttosport, AC Milan are set to make move for Fabregas in January as they look to bolster their midfield’s setup.

The San Siro outfits haven’t been too impressive at the middle of the pitch and they are hoping to put an end to their uninspiring display by snatching the 31-year-old from Sarri’s watch.

Although the Blues have set a £11m price tag on the player’s signature, the Serie A side are more determined to see the former Barcelona player at San Siro in the second period of the campaign.

Fabregas has seen it all in the English League. He’s won many trophies with Chelsea and Arsenal. It’s high time he face challenges from other League.

Denis Suarez

Stamford Bridge-based premier league giants Chelsea have been told that they can sign highly-rated Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez for a small transfer fee when the transfer window reopens in three weeks time.

According to The Daily Mirror, they report that the Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona have indicated their willingness to sell the Spanish international midfielder to Chelsea and other interested parties for just £15m
Other European sides like Arsenal, Valencia, and Napoli are also keen on a move for the 24-year-old.

Before now, reports have claimed that the player favours a move to the Gunners ahead of clubs like Valencia and Napoli who have been long-term admirers of the player.

He was very close to signing for Napoli twice while Maurizio Sarri was still the manager.

The Chelsea manager still retains an interest in him and he could be a direct replacement for compatriot Cesc Fabregas who could leave Chelsea when the January transfer market reopens.

Cesc Fabregas has been attracting strong interest from seven-time European champions AC Milan who are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements.

The former Arsenal man has just six months left on his present Chelsea contract but the Italians are not ready to wait till the summer.

They have also been credited with an interest in Denis Suarez but Cesc Fabregas represents a cheaper option for the Rossoneri.

Napoli Star Talks Up Sarri Reunion At Chelsea

Published

Dries Mertens

Napoli forward Dries Mertens has revealed his desire to reunite with new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri at the end of his contract with the Italian Serie A giants.

Mertens is contracted to Napoli until the end of the 2019/20 season.

He spoke in glowing terms about Italian tactician Sarri in a chat with popular English media outlet The Times.

Dries Mertens went on to say that the idea of reuniting with the new Blues’ boss at the end of his Napoli contract is not a bad idea.

Maurizio Sarri became the Chelsea manager in the summer after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.

The 59-year-old replaced compatriot Antonio Conte who lost his job after an underwhelming season which saw the Blues finish in a disappointing fifth place at the end of the Premier League campaign.

Maurizio Sarri has lifted the largely dull Chelsea spirits this season with the introduction of his possession-based style known as ‘Sarriball’ but he has had to suffer for a lack of consistent goalscoring strikers in the team.

Dries Mertens could be a very good option for Sarri and Chelsea.

The Belgian star has already scored 10 goals in addition to four assists for Napoli in all competitions this season.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri and his assistant Gianfranco Zola have told the club to sign Italian international midfielder Nicolo Barella ahead of the upcoming transfer market scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.

His impressive showings for Cagliari since the start of last season prompted interests from several European clubs including Chelsea.

From Roma’s reject to Liverpool’s legend, the story behind Alisson’s rise to stardom

Published

on

Alisson Becker

Liverpool are through to the knockout stage of this season’s Champions League competition, thanks to Alisson Becker’s heroic displays against Napoli last night.

Prior to the encounter, the Reds needed a 1-0 victory over the Serie A giants to progress out of the group.

After many missed chances, the Merseyside outfits scored a very important goal via Mohammed Salah who had already missed a glorious opportunity to put the home side ahead in the first half of the encounter.

All of Liverpool’s efforts to double their lead were unproductive, instead, it was Napoli who came close to grabbing an all-important equalizer.

Arkadiusz Milik almost found the back of the net from close range, but Alisson Becker’s mighty hands were enough to prevent the former Ajax striker from sailing through to the bottom corner.

Alisson’s Journey to greatness

The 26-year-old goalie started his career in 2002 at the age of 10 when he joined Inter Milan’s academy.

The Brazilian progressed through the ranks until he made his first-team debut when he was 21 years old.

At first, he was a backup to Muriel but he began to feature more constantly with the Serie A giants as time goes on.

Alisson had 100 appearances for the Ammazurris in all competitions before he joined Roma.

Roma reject Alisson in 2015

Despite Juventus interest in his signature, the Brazilian international decided to join Roma in 2015 but the Serie A side rejected Alisson’s ‘come and get me’ plea.

Walter Sabatini who was Roma manager in 2015 failed to complete Roma’s move for the goalkeeper due to some crises related to EU qualification.

After one season, Alisson’s longtime dream eventually come true as he was signed by Roma in 2016. He went on to appear in just 37 matches after two seasons.

Liverpool opened the door of greatness to the goaltender

With just 37 matches, the goalie was able to capture Klopp’s attention with some important match-winning saves.

The Reds were in talks with Roma for his services but the Serie A side were reluctant to let go of their inspirational, first-choice goaltender

It took the Reds to break the world record before they could force Roma into sanctioning his move to Anfield. The Reds paid €72m for his signature during the summer transfer window.

Allison become Anfield’s newfound hero

The goalie’s rise to stardom happened within a short period of time, though, he passed through some career-threatening challenges and rejection.

His switch to the Anfield stadium was marred by the huge amount received by Roma on his signature.

However, the Reds are presently enjoying the services they are getting from the netminder. He has been wonderful at the back of the park since the start of this campaign.

At 26, Liverpool are yet to reap half of their reward for spending big on the Brazilian star, who has become a mainstay in Klopp’s starting lineup and even in the League.

It won’t be surprising if Alisson become the first Brazilian goalkeeper to win PFA goalkeeper of the season
