Monchi admits he is aware of Arsenal interest

English Premier League outfit Arsenal are in search of a new sporting director following the announcement of the head of recruitment Sven Mislintat that he would be leaving the club in the coming month.

Sven Mislintat only had a year at the North London side but his impact has been well felt especially in the quality of players he has been able to bring to the Emirate Stadium.

It is then compulsory for the Gunners to bring in someone who will act in the role and also do better.

Italian Serie A outfit sporting director Monchi has therefore been linked with the job and he has got a response to that when he was faced with questions from journalists.

He made it clear that he is aware of the interest from the North London outfit but stated that he is focused on doing his job at AS Roma and will not want to get distracted by it.

However, he stated that it is a pleasure for him to be linked with the job but neither confirmed if he was going to jump at the offer.

Monchi joined Roma in 2017 and has been able to introduce great transfer policies to the club which saw them produce class goalkeepers like Alisson Becker who is now at Liverpool.
