Monaco Favourites To Sign Ex-Chelsea Defender
French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco are the front-runners in the quest to sign veteran English defender Ashley Cole when the mid-season transfer window opens in the next few weeks.
This is according to bookmakers Betway via football.london.
Ashley Cole could link up with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry at Monaco.
Henry is the new Monaco manager after he replaced Leonardo Jardim as recently as last month.
Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole is a free agent at the moment after he was released by Major League Season (MLS) side LA Galaxy earlier this week.
The retired England international was one of eight players released by LA Galaxy.
He has been on the books of the Los Angeles-based club since 2016.
Ashley Cole scored three goals in 86 appearances during his time at the club.
The Englishman already has several offers especially from clubs in England but his next destination is a long way from being decided.
As confirmed by bookmakers Betway, struggling French side Monaco are favourites at 6/1 to sign the 37-year-old when the January transfer window reopens in the next few weeks.
Championship side Aston Villa are at the odds of 7/1 to sign him. Other interested clubs include Newcastle United and Derby County.
