According to reports, premier league champions Chelsea are stepping up their efforts to land more players before the commencement of the upcoming campaign, and English midfielder Danny Drinkwater is a priority target.
It appears Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is a big admirer of the talented midfielder, having been impressed by his association with Frenchman N’Golo Kante who joined Chelsea last year.
There were speculations that the Stamford Bridge club intend signing both Kante and Drinkwater last term, but Leicester City couldn’t allow two of their major midfielders leave at the same time. However, a renewed effort to get the England international appears to be on the ground.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte did not have the best of his time this summer in the transfer window, but there are now reports that the club’s transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is looking towards signing as many as four new players before the end of this summer transfer window.
And the London Evening Standard said Danny has been identified as a priority, and anything should be expected before the end of this month.
The Englishman began his career at Manchester United before making the move to join the foxes in 2012. He worked harder at Leicester, helped them win the premier league trophy, and has played for his national team on three occasions.
