Juventus star player Mario Mandzukic has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent times after emerging as a target for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.
The Express made it known that manager Jose Mourinho is interested in signing the £16.2M rated star ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
Of course, Mario is a talented and impressive player who is strong and hardworking – the Mourinho type of player. He has a lot of experience and has won various trophies at various points of his career.
However, the 32-year-old Croatian is not the forward Manchester United should be pursuing right now.
Although there are some players who are over 30 and are still performing superbly (the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and few others), Mandzukic is not in the category. The Croat is glaringly on the decline.
Despite playing 30+ games last term, Mario wasn’t able to score up to 10 league goals for his current club.
Definitely, Manchester United deserves someone better.

Instead of Mandzukic, manager Jose Mourinho should pursue Leicester City’s, Jamie Vardy. Valued at £18 million, the Englishman would definitely be a fantastic acquisition for the red devils.
Although he is now 31, Jamie remains one of the best strikers in the English top flight. Additionally, he is already used to life in England and in the premier league. So, settling at Old Trafford won’t be a big issue.
