According to reports in Spain, Manchester United have been handed a clear run at landing Real Madrid safe hand Keylor Navas as he doesn’t want a switch to Premier League champions, Chelsea.
Navas could leave this summer
The Costa Rica international goalkeeper looks likely to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer transfer window in a swap deal for either Spain international David de Gea or Belgium international Thibaut Courtois as Real search the transfer market for a new safe hand.
As per Don Balon, however, the shot-stopper does not want to go to Stamford Bridge, putting any transfer deal with the Blues into doubt.
Mourinho a big fan of Navas
While this is not really ideal for the Red Devils as it could mean offloading a world-class goalkeeper in De Gea, it does give United a strong enough replacement as part of the transfer deal.
The Real Madrid number one safe hand has largely performed pretty well during his time with the Los Blancos despite not being fans favourite, and Don Balon suggest that United tactician Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the goalie, even if he isn’t really keen on signing him as part of the David De Gea deal.
