Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is close to agreeing on a deal to take over as the Inter Milan manager as from next season according to Sky Sports Italia.

The Italian tactician has been without a job since he was sacked by Premier League giants Chelsea at the end of last season.

Antonio Conte recently revealed in his most recent interview that he’s 60% certain that he will return to manage a club in the Italian Serie A.

The former Siena and Juventus boss has been linked with both the Inter Milan and AS Roma jobs.

If an agreement is reached with Inter Milan, Antonio Conte will replace Luciano Spalletti as the Inter Milan manager this summer.

Spalletti has not impressed the Inter Milan hierarchy this season after the Italians failed to qualify for the Champions League knockout stage when they were well placed to book a spot in the last 16 alongside Barcelona.

Inter Milan were piped to a knockout spot by Tottenham Hotspur who has since qualified for the Champions League final.

The Nerazzurri dropped down from the Champions League to the Europa League but Spalletti was unable to improve the club’s fortunes in Europe after they were knocked out by high-flyers Eintracht Frankfurt in the last 16 of the competition.

Inter Milan are third on the Italian Serie A table and they are on course to qualify for Champions League football next season.
