Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone said Antoine Griezmann can leave the club any time he desires leaving.
The talented player was very much linked with a move away from the club in the summer – as well as in this year’s winter transfer window.
And as January approaches, the Frenchman is yet again the subject of much speculation.
There were reports he is being targeted by both Manchester United and Barcelona, and should he leave Atletico Madrid, his next destination will be either Old Trafford or Camp Nou.
The France international came close to joining Jose Mourinho’s side this summer, but he chose to remain with Simeone’s side due to a transfer ban.
He showed loyalty to the La Liga club by deciding not to leave at a time they won’t be able to replace him.
Atletico Madrid will be able to participate in the January transfer market, and manager Diego Simeone said he won’t block Antoine from leaving his side if he wants to.
Speaking recently to L’Equipe, the manager said what a player like Griezmann need to do is to ask, and he will say ‘no problem’.
The talented Frenchman has scored five goals in 12 appearances for Atletico this season so far, and he remains a quality player who will definitely add lots of quality to Mourinho’s team.
