According to reports, Manchester United have opened negotiations over the transfer of Brazilian Willian by enquiring to the Premier League Champions over the winger’s potential availability this New Year.
And although Chelsea are not interested in selling, they could be lured if an ‘extraordinary’ bid comes in for the attacking midfielder, as reported by Daily Mail.
Jose Mourinho seems interested in making some changes in the attacking midfield position, with his team looking a little less impressive going forward recently.
Having been entirely outplayed by local rivals Manchester City last weekend, the Red Devils responded by defeating AFC Bournemouth but could only score a lone goal against the struggling team.
The publication also states that Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s United future is in serious doubt, with various news outlets linking Arsenal star Mesut Ozil as another transfer target for Manchester United.
Popular British publication Daily Mail are one of them, claiming that the Germany international playmaker is, in fact, leaning towards moving to Man United over FC Barcelona.
The Brazilian winger could be a good alternative, however, with the 29-year-old brought to Chelsea by Jose Mourinho during his most recent stint in charge at Stamford Bridge and proving a solid performer for him.
