Having failed to secure some of their wishes in the summer transfer market, Manchester United have been boosted with the words of Helsingborg President, Krister Azelius that he will be willing to give them their target, Andreas Granqvist.
The Sweden defender has been identified by the embattled Manchester club as one of the defensive solutions for the club, hence United will not go through some stress to have the player, going by the President’s words.
President Azelius had stated that the report of Granqvist being linked to the Old Trafford is completely new to him, adding that they are yet to be contacted for the player.
He, therefore, hinted that should there be an official approach from the Red Devils, the club will be open-minded to hold talks.
However, the Helsingborg President made it clear that until a deal is struck, the 33-year-old defender remains a player of the club.
The Jose Mourinho side are desperate to return to winning ways and the January transfer window will be the best and closest opportunity to getting things right by recruiting the best players for the league’s challenge.
Meanwhile, United’s chief Ed Woodward had already hinted that his side will be very active in the January transfer market.
