Manchester United have been linked with several big names this summer following their victorious campaign that saw them lift the League Cup and Europa League but Jose Mourinho is clearly not resting on his oars, targeting several big players to bolster his squad.
Here is a predicted lineup including their potential signings:
GK: David De Gea- The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since the end of the season, but the interest has since cooled off with suggestions the 26-year-old will remain at the Old Trafford.
RB: Antonio Valencia- His immense workrate towards Manchester United’s success season, and will continue to be a starter at United.
LB: Luke Shaw- Mourinho never spared the young English left-back during the last campaign but there are reports that he might offer him another chance to prove himself next season.
CB: Victor Lindelof- United’s first signing this summer, and he will be ready to spark up at the Old Trafford.
CB: Eric Bailly- His solid displays were marred by injury problems, but he could strike an excellent partnership in the defence with Lindelof next season.
CDM: Nemanja Matic – This midfielder has been tipped make a move to the Old Trafford this summer and could be a vital addition to United’s midfield.
CDM: Ander Herrera- The central midfielder has become indispensable for United, with his composure at the centre of the park.
CAM: Paul Pogba- The world record signing is expected to improve his performances next season with the imminent arrival of Matic.
LAM: Federico Bernardeschi/ Ivan Perisic- There are speculations that Jose Mourinho will add a solid player to the left-wing, the Serie A duo of Perisic or Bernardeschi have been tipped to make a switch this summer.
RAM: Henrikh Mhkitaryan- His slow start to life in the Premier League was soon forgotten by his brilliance during the second half of last season. His killer instinct will be key for United next summer.
ST: Alvaro Morata- Without much ado this Spaniard will be a quality addition to any side next season, due to his right mix of experience and youthfulness in Europe
