Despite having one of the best forwards in England, Jurgen Klopp needs to get his defence department at Liverpool solid to have a chance to compete with other top sides in Europe. Additionally, he also needs to bring a top quality goalkeeper into his team.
Since Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina – who was signed by Rafa Benitez back in 2005 – left Anfield, Liverpool have lacked a consistent shot-stopper.
As things stand now, Mignolet is the first choice keeper at the Merseyside club, and even though he has an impressive record from spot kicks, he has overall proved to be inconsistent.
In such a case, Liverpool are keen on signing a new shot-stopper, and if reports in the media are anything to go by, then Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas is the one expected to come over to solve the goalkeeping dilemma at Anfield once and for all.
Spanish news outlet Diario Gol made it known that the premier league club needs a goalkeeper and are interested in signing the Costa Rican shot-stopper.
In another report, the Spanish outlet also claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo wants the 30-year-old to be replaced at Madrid.
Navas, who is currently out with a tear in the abductor’s muscle, is also understood to be tired that every summer he is linked with a move away from the club.
His current contract with the La Liga champions will expire in 2020 with a release clause of €200million.
