According to reports, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was in Austria last week to check out on a player recommended by Nemanja Matic.
The Portuguese tactician was seen in the crowd during the World Cup qualifying game between Austria and Serbia at the Ernst Happel Stadium last Friday, which aroused different speculations.
There are some suggestions that the former Chelsea manager attended the game to scout Serbia star player Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Austrian David Alaba, and Local TV on the other hand said Jose was watching Southampton’s Serbian midfielder Dusan Tadic.
But the Daily Mirror claimed Mourinho was actually there for someone else – Mijat Gacinovic.
Gacinovic currently plays for German side Eintracht Frankfurt, and it’s understood that his impressive performances have caught the attention of the Old Trafford club who are now keeping tabs on him.
The talented player moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Vojvodina in 2015 and is regarded as one of the most promising players in the German league.
The 22-year-old has scored two goals in three appearances for his national side and has emerged as a target for Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
And Manchester United have now joined the list of European sides keeping tabs on the talented player, after Nemanja Matic had reportedly told his manager Jose Mourinho about his countryman.
