Former Chelsea player Ruud Gullit has warned the blues that they will have to improve their game as soon as possible ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with La Liga giants Barcelona later in the month.

Struggling Champions

The reigning Premier League Champions have been in poor shape recently and they slumped to their fourth loss in five English Premier League matches on Sunday when they were defeated 1-0 by League leaders Manchester City at The Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea’s poor shape in the League has caused them to fall out of the top four on the Log, with the side now fifth and five points adrift at fourth-placed Tottenham with nine matches remaining to play.

The West London side will take on the Catalan giant in the return leg of their last 16 UEFA Champions League encounter later in the month at Camp Nou.

Chelsea must brace up

And Ruud Gullit has warned the club that they cannot afford to continue their poor form as they look to try and turn their campaign around.

The Blues will aim to get back to winning ways in the English Premier League when they play host to struggling Crystal Palace at the Bridge on Saturday.

Antonio Conte’s team won the English Premier League title in grand style last season but they were not distracted by any European football.
