Ahead of the Manchester Derby this weekend, it has been made known that Man City star player David Silva has picked a knock recently and is now in a race to be fit for the crucial clash.
Silva has been superb for the citizens this season so far and helped them snatched a late winner against West Ham last weekend.
The Spaniard played the full 90 minutes against the London club and scored his side’s second goal in the 83rd minute to help extend their winning run to 8 in all competitions.
The 31-year-old is a regular starter for Man City who would have definitely start the game against Jose Mourinho’s side on Sunday. But manager Pep Guardiola has made it known that the talented player is a doubt for the game against their rivals.
Pep, speaking ahead of their Champions League group stage game against Shakhtar Donetsk, said the Spain international has ‘a little problem’.
‘I don’t know whether [Silva] will recover for Sunday [game against Manchester United].’ Guardiola admitted.
Jose Mourinho will be doing without Paul Pogba in the premier league clash with the league leaders after the Frenchman was shown the red card during the 3-1 win over Arsenal last Saturday.
And the absence of Silva is good news for the red devils.
