Premier League giants Chelsea have been informed to forget about signing defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer transfer window.
Chelsea linked with strong central defender
The FA Cup holders have been strongly linked with a possible move to land the Senegalese after being mentioned with an interest in the centre-half over the last few campaigns.
Indeed, the Blues were speculated to have tested the resolve of his side Napoli last summer window but the Italian side’s Supremo Aurelio De Laurentiis priced Chelsea out of a deal.
The strong defender’s reputation has grown rapidly over the last 12 months after he helped his Serie A side to challenge eventual champions Juventus for the Italian Serie A title last term.
Chelsea join transfer race
The Red Devils are now thought to have entered the transfer race to land the 26-year-old in the present transfer market.
The West London giant have retained their keen interest following a poor second campaign under Italian manager Antonio Conte that got them in a fifth-spot finish.
However, Napoli chief Executive De Laurentiis is adamant that the African won’t leave the Italian side this summer window.
Conte’s men were 1-0 winners against eternal rivals Man United in the Emirates FA Cup final last month at Wembley Stadium last term thanks to playmaker Eden Hazard’s winning goal from the spot.
